A New and Improved Weather Radio
Have You Purchased a Weather Radio Yet?
I remember when I first decided to purchase a weather radio. While I knew it was something that had to be done, I wasn’t exactly looking forward to it. After all, how exciting can it be to shop for a weather radio? There are much more adventurous things I’d like to do with my time. But onto the Web I went to research the weather radios and what I found surprised me.
This Ain’t Your Daddy’s Weather Radio
Gone are the days when a weather radio was a battery-operated box that let you tune into the local weather stations. The weather radio of today is much more intriguing and entertaining.
Perhaps the most impressive weather radio I have found to date is the ARC FR400 Weather Radio by Eton. Sure, this weather radio gives you all of the NOAA weather stations you could want, but it also allows you to access the airwaves of local television stations allowing you access to up-to-the-minute information.
A True Emergency Radio
The Eton ARC FR400 is truly a weather radio suited for emergency situations. Don’t worry about the batteries running out of power. This radio operates off a crank-powered generator and it doesn’t just power itself – it can power your cell phone too. That’s probably one of the reasons I put my old weather radio in the garage sale pile for retirement and bought one of these puppies.
A Price That Can’t Be Beat
When I read about the Eton ARC FR400 weather radio in a magazine, I almost didn’t even go to the website to check it out, thinking it would be too expensive. Curiosity got the better of me and I went online and decided to look into it. I was very surprised at how affordable this weather radio was. For sixty bucks, I was able to get the top-of-the-line Eton ARC FR400 weather radio. For those with a smaller budget, a Grundig FR200 was available for $40 or an Eton FR300 was available for $50. Compared to what some weather radios cost, that’s just a drop in the bucket.
A Charitable Benefit As Well
Sure, the features and price of the Eton ARC FR400 weather radio are enough to sell almost anyone on it, but Eton is adding a charitable benefit to the radio as well. For each of these weather radios purchased, Eton will donate a percentage of the sales price to the American Red Cross.
